# Cookie Policy

The short version: we set essential cookies to keep you signed in and keep the platform secure, and we ask before setting anything optional. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and a consent choice you can change any time.

Effective July 18, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how EternalEngine uses cookies and similar browser-storage technologies on our websites and platform (the "Service"). It supplements the [Privacy Policy](https://eternalengineos.io/privacy/). Essential cookies are set without asking, because the Service cannot work without them. The one optional category — product analytics — is off until you accept it in the in-app notice, and that decision is recorded server-side when you are signed in (see [Your Data & Requests](https://eternalengineos.io/data-requests/) for how to change it).

## What We Set

| **Authentication** | Keeps your session signed in and lets us refresh your access securely. Removed or invalidated on logout. | Session / refresh window |
| **Security** | Protects sign-in and payment flows against cross-site request forgery and abuse. | Session |
| **Payment processing** | During checkout, our payment processor (Stripe) sets cookies for fraud prevention on its own payment elements. | Per Stripe's policy |
| **Product analytics** (optional) | Only after you accept it in the in-app notice: anonymized usage metrics — which features are used, how often — to improve the Service. Reject it and nothing is set. | Until you withdraw consent |
| **Preferences (local storage)** | Remembers interface choices — theme, sidebar layout, app ordering — in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device. | Until cleared |

## What We Don't Do

- No third-party advertising cookies, ever.
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
- No selling or sharing of cookie-derived data.
- Product analytics are optional, aggregated and anonymized, as described in the [Privacy Policy](https://eternalengineos.io/privacy/).

## Your Choices

Accept or reject product analytics in the in-app notice, and change that choice later under Settings → Notices; the change applies immediately. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, but blocking the essential ones will prevent sign-in and checkout from working. Preference data in local storage can be cleared through your browser without affecting your account.

If we ever introduce another non-essential cookie category, we will update this policy first and ask for consent before setting it.
